Heraldica's Mythological Ladies' Ring Collection
The original engraving was described in a museum catalog as: Mottled red jasper scaraboid - A charioteer in a long, girded chiton is driving a chariot with two galloping horses. He holds the four reins in his left hand, the raised right grasps the goad. The near horse's head is in three quarter view; it has a narrow belly-band; the farther wheel, which is smaller than the near one, is shown behind its hind legs. Ground line. Late fifth century B.C. 32mm. Metropolitan Museum of Art. New York.
